Unke shauk ki ye inteha thi
Qadam jab rakha to dilli rasta thi
paanch hisso mai tabdeel ban ban phire wo
Mamluk se lodhi unki hasrate wafa thi
Unke shauk ki ye inteha thi
Mushriq o maghrib, shumaalo junoob se bhatke wo
Dilli he unki khaatib e raah thi

Aaghaz-o-irteqa qutubuddin aibak se rang laayi thi
Mamlook ke zamane mai muqaddar jo minar ban paayi thi..
Wo bachpan mai khilone banata todta tha..
Uske anjaam ki wo ibtedaayi thi…
Quwwat Ul Islam bhi aakhir bulandi paayi thi..

khilji ki qudrat urooj par dam laayi thi…
Wo minaare, wo gumbat,wo naqshe, wo daulat e shauhrat….
Jo dilli ki waadiyon mai samayi thi…
Khaufnaak manzar, dardnaak ghaflat to kiya..
Jizya bhi kamaal ki ibtedayi thi…
Miyaana rawi to unke khilaaf e shaan thi..
Bunyad-e-Siyasat ki lakeer barqaraar thi…

Firoz Shah jo bane tajdaare tughlaq..
Qutub Minar fir naqsh mai laajawab thi….
Wo kaneez, wo jizya, wo badshaahi sutanate to kya…
Khanjar ke bina par dilli qurbaan thi…

Wo bazar ka husn, wo sadko ki chamak, dilli ki pehchaan sultan ke naam thi…
Benaqaab hua mustaqbil jab tehmoor or khizar ka zamaana guzra..
Warna dilwaalo ka shaher Dilli Sab he ki jaan thi…
Khanjar or talawaar utar aye watan mai..
Fir kya majaal, kya sawaal jo syed ki pehchan thi….

Unke qabil e dimag ki ye inteha thi..
Sultano ki siyaasat ki Alvida se pehle ..
Sikander ne qadam jo rakha unki parwaan thi…
Mohaabat unke dilon mai bezubaan thi…
Akhir sultanat ke raahi ibrahim ki shaan thi

Saadgi or Zindah dili dilli ke Naam thi …..
Sultan ke khauf ne chirag bhujha dya tha
Warna Nafraton ko mitana mahez ek dhalti shaam thi ..
Paanch saltanat ke saaqi ke seene mai dilli dafan ho gyi thi ..
Na Jane dardnaak karaahat kaha kaha Goonj uthi thi
